TotallyLooksLike.com, a website launched last month, asks readers to match celebrity faces with unlikely lookalikes. You may think this totally looks like a very old idea done to death in magazines for years.

- In reality, the site is the latest part of the internet comedy empire created by the funny people behind ICanHasCheezeburger. This is the sixth spin-off website since the original Lolcats.com site launched in 2007.

- TotallyLooksLike makes it easy for readers to join in. E-mail two photos of your unlikely doppelgängers, and they do the rest.

- The site has got off to a geeky start, with a lot of celebrity comparisons to characters in cult movies. There is a picture of Victoria Beckham bearing a spooky resemblance to Falkor the Luck Dragon from The Neverending Story, while rapper Flava Flav is compared to Stripe, leader of the Gremlins. Animal face-offs are also a favourite: Mick Jagger looks remarkably similar to a batfish; and actor Gary Busey’s toothy grin is much like that of a horse.
