190,000 troops are being used for the rescue out of over 2.2million men/women in the PLA. Do they really need 2million to stand by doing nothing to protect the communist party leaders? It is communist party members who should be lynched not the builders or the architects. The Chinese never learn.

(2) One thing amazing to me is that you can see no turmoil, no looting in the quake-hit areas in China. And what is more amazing is that you can see no soldier carrying a gun among the tens of thousands rescuing army. Think of the American soldiers going to New Orleans in 2005 - they went to kill.

I would be interested to know if the mining and dam building activity that seems prevalent in Sichuan province has contributed in any way to the scale of the devastation. Perhaps there are lessons to be learned here for the future? My thoughts are with the families of the victims.
