Three months of progress under James Lowes evaporated at The Jungle last night as the fragility of Warrington's claims to be engage Super League title contenders was exposed in spectacular style by Castleford.

Only a poor night with the boot by Kirk Dixon and Craig Huby, who between them landed only two conversions, spared the blushes of a Warrington side who could now find themselves overtaken by Wigan and Bradford.

Castleford led 22-12 at the break with two tries each from Michael Wainwright and Stuart Donlan and one from Luke Dorn, the Australian half-back who wielded a huge influence.

Richard Owen, the wing, scored two tries after the resumption and Wainwright completed his hat-trick in the closing stages after Chris Riley, the Warrington wing, had added another try to his earlier effort, but Castleford's superiority was never in question.
